EUFREE Project
The EUFREE project provides activities and concrete outputs that will be realized by multigenerational, multicultural and transnational network of 350 representatives of several target groups from Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina & Serbia, with the main aim of encouraging empathy to tackle conflicting national interpretations that have caused deep-rooted prejudices among their cultures.
EUFREE is divided into three (3) main parts on the past, present and future of the EU.
Each part is centered on an International Event whose main goal is to share the results of previous activities and present the content of the following ones among partners and with the audience.
Before and after these three (3) events, EUFREE partner meetings will be held to share preliminary information and tools as well as the final evaluation/elaboration of the results.
Participants will start from their knowledge and comparison of national histories to better understand all the specific consequences of the terrible wars that took place in this part of Europe in the 20th century.
These activities include the "EUROPE YESTERDAY" study travel with the participation of survivors, experts and journalists from all 5 countries involved.
The results of the 1st set of experiences will encourage participants to jointly reflect on the history and values of the EU from its founding until today, during the activities foreseen in the „EUROPE TODAY“ – Part 2 of the EUFREE.
Part 3 will deal with the topic of fundamental rights in Europe, and participants will jointly create educational tools that will be shared with several other organizations/institutions at each national level.
During each event, conferences and commemorations will be organized to discuss major historical turning points in recent European history and all other priorities of the Sub-Programme "European Remembrance".
Among other concrete results (common Educational Tools, Videos, Theatrical Piéce) the final outcome will be a joint document on the implementation of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights: "EUROPE WE WISH".
